When looking for a trauma-informed, integrative therapist, consider someone who:
Acknowledges the impact of trauma on the nervous system and body
Integrates somatic, relational, and evidence-informed approaches
Moves at a pace that prioritizes safety and consent
Views symptoms through a whole-person lens rather than a pathology-only model
You may find therapists like this through professional directories, referrals, or by reading how a therapist describes their approach on their website.
-
Somatic therapy supports grief, dysregulation, and life transitions by addressing how experiences are held in the body, not just the mind. This approach can help clients:
Build nervous system regulation, trust, internal safety, and resilience
Increase emotional awareness and tolerance
Process loss, change, or identity shifts more gently
Reconnect with a sense of safety and self-trust
Somatic therapy is especially supportive when words alone feel insufficient.

Yes. In New York a certified and licensed clinician can offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) in collaboration with medical providers. At Sycamore + Cedar, KAP is typically integrated into ongoing therapy and includes careful screening, preparation, and integration. If you are curious about whether KAP may be appropriate for you, it’s important to work with a clinician trained in trauma-informed and ethical KAP practices.

When seeking therapy for ADHD-related challenges, look for a therapist who:
Understands ADHD through both neurobiological and nervous system lenses
Recognizes how ADHD can intersect with trauma, anxiety, or burnout
Offers practical tools alongside emotional and somatic support
Works collaboratively rather than focusing on “fixing” behavior
A good therapeutic fit can support focus, self-compassion, emotional regulation, and sustainable change.
